November 6, 2024 – At its quarterly meeting sponsored by Isle Golf Cars and the Morningstar Golf Club, the 100 Men of Oceanside awarded $17,000 to the Ballenas & Kwalikum Guys Group.
“This donation will enable the Ballenas & Kwalikum Guys Group to expand weekly lunch hour at the High Schools to include organized field trip activities for the boys to grow up to become confident, capable, and caring men.”
Accepting the ‘cheque’ from Lawrence Setter of the 100 Men of Oceanside are Brent Kellas and Dave Fraser of the Ballenas & Kwalikum Guys Group.
The next meeting of the 100 Men of Oceanside will take place on March 5, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Morningstar Golf Club, 525 Lowry’s Road, Parksville. A social hour starting at 6:00 PM will precede the meeting and is open to all members, guests, and men interested in participating in the organization.
100 Men of Oceanside is actively recruiting new members. Any man residing in the Oceanside area who is interested in joining the work of the 100 Men of Oceanside is welcome.
About 100 Men of Oceanside
- The group meets quarterly, and each member commits to contributing $100 at each meeting to support an eligible Oceanside charitable group.
- A recipient charity may receive a donation only once every 3 years.
- Members’ individual donations of $100 quarterly (totalling $400 per year) are issued federal tax receipts by the recipient organization.
- 100% of member donations go directly to the selected charities.
Since its inception in December 2019, the 100 Men group has contributed more than $225,000 to Oceanside charitable organizations that provide services and support to residents of the Oceanside area.
