Sponsored Charity: Society of Organized Services (SOS)

At its third quarterly meeting of 2025, sponsored by the Morningstar Golf Club, Isle Golf Cars, and Motiontide, the 100 Men of Oceanside awarded $19,200 to the Society of Organized Services (SOS).

The Society of Organized Services has been serving the Oceanside community for more than 57 years and this award was made to support its on-going Food Voucher Program which assists needy Oceanside residents during the Fall and Winter months to avoid having to choose between necessary expenses such as rent, school supplies or medications and food for their families. The award to SOS was made by majority vote by the 100 Men attendees.

The next meeting of the 100 Men of Oceanside will take place on 05 November 2025, starting at 7:00 PM at the Morningstar Golf Club, 525 Lowry’s Road, Parksville. A social hour starting at 6:00 PM will precede the meeting and is open to all members, guests and men interested in participating in the organization.

100 Men of Oceanside is actively recruiting new members and any man residing in the Oceanside area who is interested in joining the ‘work’ of the 100 Men of Oceanside is welcome and can get more information (and sign up to participate) by going to the website: 100oceansidemen.ca or by coming to the November meeting and social.

The 100 Men of Oceanside group meets quarterly, and its members commit to contribute $100 individually at each meeting to support an eligible Oceanside charitable group.

A recipient charity may only receive a donation from 100 Men once every 3 years. Members’ individual donations of $100 quarterly ($400 per year) are issued federal tax receipts by the recipient organization and 100% of member donations goes to the selected charities.

Since its inception in December 2019, the 100 Men group has contributed more than $275,000 to Oceanside charitable groups that provide services and support to the residents of Oceanside.
